It was a breezy, bright, sunny day but the task at hand was anything but easy. John, the owner and future inventor of the All Terrain Concrete Saw™, stared down at the job in front of him with dread as he knew cutting the 60 foot curb with Partner/Ring saws was going to be tiring, messy and back-breaking work. As he knelt down in the muck and slurry, hovering over the curb, cutting it inch by inch, foot by foot, he muttered “there has got to be a better way”.   

Fast forward a couple days later, John was on a long trip out west to pick up a piece of equipment. His body still sore from the arduous curb cut he had done and on a long, mind-numbing highway, he tinkered through various iterations of a machine that could do this work--and save his knees, back and general safety. Upon his return, he got to work right away building our first prototype of the invention with nothing more than his idea, a hand grinder, welder and off the shelf parts.  His vast experience in woodworking and construction would come in handy as he pieced together a working prototype that’s still in operation to this day and a brand-new concept in concrete cutting was born. Not to mention a whole new market called “existing curb cutting". 

Earlier in the process, he had shared his idea with his wife, Stacy. She shared several ideas as well that were incorporated into the prototype. Her business education and corporate experience coupled with John’s entrepreneurial savvy, JS Innovations LLC was created with the mission of helping others realize and build their business potential (save their knees!)
